Manchester United have offered Romelu Lukaku to Juventus after deciding they did not want to wait for Inter any longer, according to Tuttosport.
Inter cannot meet the Red Devils’ €88 million asking price unless they raise funds from several player sales, with Mauro Icardi the main candidate.
The clubs are €23 million apart on their valuations for Lukaku, following the Nerazzurri’s last €65 million offer, and United are fed up.
They have proposed a swap deal with Juventus involving Paulo Dybala, whom they are keen to sign for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Inter hope they can have better success in their talks for Edin Dzeko next week, with the Turin-based paper reporting a new €15 million offer was on the way.
Beppe Marotta will meet Roma’s management when the Serie A fixture ceremony takes place on Monday, but he could submit the new bid before then over the weekend.
The clubs are nonetheless back in contact with one another and Conte hopes at least one of his desired forwards will arrive soon.
