Apple to launch four iPhones in 2020 in an attempt to return to growth

A report from JPMorgan revealed Apple will try to boost its iPhone sales in 2020 by launching four models. An analyst expects Cupertino to bring three new OLED phones with 5G modems and at least two of them will also have ToF camera.
Apple usually releases its phones in September right in time for the holiday season, but we already know 2019 will see only three new devices with an unusual camera setup, but improved shooters overall.

The analysis from JPMorgan also revealed that Apple is going for the “value” market, meaning a phone with the size of the iPhone 8, but without the 5G modem and at a lower cost.
Since Tim Cook is not willing to drop the premium segment, the three expected flagships with OLEDs will have 5.4”, 6.1”, and 6.7” screen sizes. All these upgrades will aim to restore sales growth, with 195 million expected units to be shipped in 2020, up from the estimated 180 million in 2019.

Higuain wants to remain at Juventus

Gonzalo Higuain wants to remain at Juventus next season and fight for his place despite having an offer from Roma.
The Argentine forward spent last season on loan at AC Milan and Chelsea, respectively but is Juve player again as neither side opted to sign him outright.
Sky Sport Italia and others report that Pipita is insistent that he will stay in Turin next season and won’t entertain a possible move to Roma.
There’s even a suggestion that Higuain has hired a personal trainer to work with him during the summer in an effort to impress Maurizio Sarri ahead of the new season.
Juve are looking to move on the players on the fringes of the squad as they look to revitalise the team with Sky linking the Bianconeri to Romelu Lukaku, Mauro Icardi and Paul Pogba.

Xi Jinping Tells Officials Not To Be Lazy And "Spend Whole Day Eating"

Xi Jinping Tells Officials Not To Be Lazy And 'Spend Whole Day Eating'
BEIJING:
Chinese officials must not use the fight against corruption as an excuse to sit around and do nothing, idling their time away and "spending the whole day eating", President Xi Jinping told a meeting of senior Communist Party leaders on Tuesday.
Since Xi began his war on graft after assuming power in late 2012, the party and government have repeatedly scolded officials who think they can avoid punishment by trying to keep a low profile by not doing their jobs or making decisions.
Xi told the meeting that it was important to "correctly handle the relationship between being clean and being responsible", the official Xinhua news agency said.
"You absolutely cannot view anti-corruption as an excuse to not accept responsibility or to do nothing," Xinhua cited Xi as saying.
"Be brave to handle heavy burdens, crack hard nuts and handle hot potatoes," he added.
"Don't be muddle-headed officials who are politically apathetic and do things half-heartedly; don't be lazy officials who spend the whole day eating and idle their time away."
Xi has vowed to target both "tigers" and "flies", referring to elite officials and ordinary bureaucrats in his corruption battle.
The campaign has led to the jailing or punishment of thousands of officials and also brought down dozens of senior party and military officials, including Zhou Yongkang, the much feared former domestic security chief.
COMMENT
The anti-corruption effort has not only focused on issues like bribery and using public money to fund lavish lifestyles. It has also taken aim at those whose political loyalty is found lacking or who express doubt in public about party policies.

Pot of gold? Thailand leads slow push to legalize weed in Asia

BANGKOK -- Thailand's general election in March had a potentially powerful side effect: It made a party that advocates the full legalization of marijuana the country's fifth-largest political force.
In a region that maintains some of the harshest narcotics laws on the planet, including death for trafficking, the cannabis taboo is beginning to go up in smoke. Even before the election, Thailand's junta became the first Southeast Asian government to legalize the drug for medicine and research, amending a strict 1979 law as a "New Year's gift" to the people after heavy lobbying by pro-cannabis groups.
But as Asian countries slowly begin to follow the lead of Western governments that have accepted weed for medical and even recreational use, critics warn the authorities may not fully understand the consequences as they zero in on a new source of tax revenue.
Thailand's Bhumjaithai party argues fully legal pot would bring big economic benefits. In the election campaign, it vowed to promote cannabis as a lucrative commodity that could help poor farmers earn up to 400,000 to 600,000 baht ($13,000 to $19,500) a year. Now the party is a member of Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha's coalition government, and has been rumored to have a shot at the health ministry portfolio.
Supachai Jaisamuth, a leading member of the party, said it will continue to push for embracing cannabis as a cash crop. "We are now a government coalition party so it is easier to continue the policy that we promised the Thai people during the election," he said.
For the time being, patients that meet certain conditions are eligible for marijuana prescriptions. After Thailand's king approved the legal revision in February, the government held a 90-day amnesty program under which people in illegal possession of the drug could register to verify that they legitimately need it, with no risk of punishment. The Bangkok Post reported that 1 in 10 applicants, out of about 20,000, were deemed to have valid needs, such as cancer sufferers.
So far, only the Government Pharmaceutical Organization can legally grow cannabis and the extract cannabidiol, known as CBD, for medical products. The GPO has set up the nation's first indoor farm to develop Thailand's own patented cannabis medicines, said Vichien Keeratinijakal, an agronomy lecturer at Kasetsart University who conducted a cannabis extract project for the organization.
"The first lot of 2,500 bottles of CBD extract with 5 cc each will be distributed to hospitals and medical schools across the country by July-August, to be used in medical trials, particularly as a pain-control drug," Vichien said, adding it would also be used as a sublingual drop for epilepsy patients.
The authorities will consider applications from certain types of organizations and health care practitioners that wish to grow, import or export medical marijuana. Unauthorized possession remains punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
Proponents of legalization see enormous untapped business potential. Prohibition Partners, a nongovernmental organization founded two years ago with a mission to open up the international cannabis industry, estimates 85.5 million of Asia's roughly 4.5 billion population in 2019 are cannabis users. The group projects the Asian market will be worth $8.5 billion in 2024, with medical use accounting for $5.8 billion of that.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery wants another centre-back after signing William Saliba

Unai Emery wants another defender

Arsenal will continue their hunt to land a new centre-back once they complete the signing of William Saliba, reports say. The Saint-Etienne centre-back is on the verge of a move to Arsenal, after the Gunners agreed a £27million deal for Saliba. But Arsenal fans will have to wait until the 2020/21 season to see Saliba in action for the club, as Saint-Etienne has demanded the player back on loan for the new campaign. BBC Sport confirm Arsenal have agreed to this demand and Saliba will return to Saint-Etienne once he signs his contract with the Gunners in London. Saliba is highly rated in France (Picture: Getty) With Saliba not available for the coming season, Unai Emery wants to sign another centre-back that can go straight into the first-team. Emery is unhappy with his current defensive options and is reportedly considering offloading Shkodran Mustafi as a means to raise further transfer funds. Arsenal has around £45m to spend this summer, which has restricted Emery in landing his top targets. Efforts to sign Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha and Celtic full-back Kieran Tierney have been unsuccessful so far.

Forget iPhone 11, Apple's Next iPhones Detailed

Thinking about upgrading your iPhone in 2019? Don’t. The iPhone 11 is Apple’s ugliest model in years, and while there are some solid improvements, there’s also a lot missing. Moreover, we now know Apple will bring out the big guns in 2020.

iPhone 2020 concept render based on leaks
Credit for this news goes to CNBC, which has managed to attain a note from JPMorgan detailing what it knows about Apple’s next-generation 2020 iPhones. And, not only the information confirmprevious good news, it goes further with the models expected to drive a major pickup in sales worldwide.
Building on what we already know, JPMorgan states that Apple will indeed resize both its premium iPhones next year, shrinking the 5.8-inch model to 5.4-inches and enlarging the 6.5-inch Max to 6.7-inches. The next generation iPhone XR will stay at 6.1-inches, all of which is smart because it gives Apple sizes to fit every user preference. OLED panels will also become standard across the range. Furthermore, JPMorgan goes a step further than what we had heard before.

Thanks to its recent deal with Qualcomm and innovative groundwork laid inside the iPhone 11 logic board, JPMorgan says Apple will now bring 5G to every 2020 iPhone, rather than exclude the XR as we had been led to believe. In addition, “at least two of the three models [are] adopting world facing 3D Sensing (Time of Flight) driving industry-leading AR/VR capabilities which can be leveraged by custom built applications (including games).”

On July 10, Ku Hye Sun met with reporters to talk about her new novel “Tears are Heart-Shaped” (literal title). She explained, “It’s a novel about love and relationships, my first since my 2009 novel about first loves. I talk a lot about my own relationships.”
When asked if she’d ever consider writing a novel about her dating and married life with Ahn Jae Hyun, Ku Hye Sun said, “To be honest, I think we showed a lot of ourselves in the variety show ‘Newlywed Diary.’ By showing people our life as newlyweds, I think we were able to share many moments that we couldn’t now.”
She smiled as she added, “I don’t know what will happen, but maybe I’ll write a book if there’s something I need to reveal and write about in 10 years. I’ll keep it in my heart till then,” and joked, “Personally, I think it’s difficult to live with someone like me, so I always thank him for being alive.”

Actor Kang Ji Hwan Arrested For Sexual Assault
Kang Ji Hwan has been arrested on charges of sexual assault. Police apprehended the actor at his home in Gwangju on July 9 at 10:50 p.m. KST.
According to reports, Kang Ji Hwan returned home with two female employees from his agency (hereafter referred to as “A” and “B”) to have more drinks following a company dinner. Later that night, he went into the room where the two women were sleeping and committed sexual assault on “A” and indecent assault on “B.”
Earlier that night at 9:41 p.m., “A” had texted a friend in Seoul and said, “I had some drinks at actor Kang Ji Hwan’s house, and now we’re trapped,” and asked her friend to report it. When the police arrived at Kang Ji Hwan’s home, “A” said that she had been sleeping when Kang Ji Hwan sexually assaulted her, leading to the actor’s arrest.
At the police station, Kang Ji Hwan said, “I remember having drinks, but I don’t remember anything after that. When I opened my eyes, I was in the room where [‘A’] was sleeping.” After a round of questioning, Kang Ji Hwan, still intoxicated, was put in holding. A source from the police said, “We have yet to fully investigate the matter, so other than that Kang Ji Hwan has been arrested for sexual assault, we cannot reveal anything.”
Kang Ji Hwan is currently starring in the TV Chosun drama “Joseon Survival.”

Manchester United's 2019/20 season predicted if Paul Pogba left in swap deal with Isco

Manchester United's summer transfer window has been dominated by incomings so far, but there could well be some high-profile departures before the window shuts.

Speculation regarding the future of United midfielder Paul Pogba continues to rumble on, with the likes of Real Madrid and Juventus reported to be interested in the Frenchman this summer.
Over the last few days, rumours have suggested that Real Madrid could offer Spanish midfielder Isco in exchange for Pogba this summer, who fell out of favour under Zinedine Zidane towards the end of last season. It is important to stress that MEN Sport understands United are not prepared to sell Pogba this summer.
Swap deals are notoriously difficult to complete, with a lot of moving parts involved, but United did manage to do a swap deal with Arsenal for Alexis Sanchez and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
