The head-spinning love lives of Miley Cyrus,Kaitlynn Carter and Brody Jenner dominated theMTV Video Music Awards’ afterparties on Monday night.
Page Six first spotted Cyrus “giving a sweet kiss” backstage to Carter — who was married to Jenner until early August — at the awards show before giving an emotional performance of her breakup song “Slide Away.”
Later, Cyrus and Carter were spotted holding hands on their way into the Columbia Records’ afterparty at Up & Down — where Jenner was partying with his new girlfriend, Jose Canseco’s daughter, model Josie Canseco. No word of an awkward runin inside.
Cyrus — who announced her split from husband Liam Hemsworth earlier this month — and Carter attended the party to celebrate her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, and country rapper Lil Nas X, who received a plaque from label boss Ron Perry for their track “Old Town Road” becoming the longest-running No. 1 in the history of the Billboard charts.
“Nas is friends with the whole Cyrus family at this point,” an insider told Page Six. “Miley was there supporting both of them.”

Meanwhile, Jenner and Canseco were spotted at DJ Khaled’s afterparty at Avenue, where “he was passing around shots … and seemed to be in a good mood,” according to a spy. French Montana and 2 Chainz performed, and guests included Busta Rhymes and Victor Cruz.
Over at Republic Records’ party at Moxy hotel’s Fleur Room, Taylor Swift held court at a table with Bella Hadid, Gigi Hadid and her new boyfriend Tyler Cameron, Ansel Elgort, Bebe Rexha, Halsey and Winnie Harlow, having mini pizzas, drinking champagne and dancing.
Cyrus and Carter have been romantically linked since earlier this month, when they were photographed kissing while on vacation in Italy the day after Cyrus and Hemsworth announced their split.
